001. Health & Beauty Live @ The Abbey Lounge 10/08/08 – Simple extracted audio from a Handheld DV camera. This set is incredible and although recorded extremely lo-fi, the sound surprisingly doesn’t suck. Go HERE to see the video from the show.
001a. Health & Beauty Live @ The Middle East 08/29/09 – Again, extracted audio with a extremely small bit of fooling in Soundforge. Again not the greatest quality, but I really believe sometimes there are performances that shouldn’t be missed. This was one of them. So check it – especially “jesus hits like shock and awe,” and the heartbreaking, “helotry/freedom of the seas.” The Video of the show is over in the section that bears it’s name.

002. The Sandcastles Live @ Walker Street Kitchen 11/08 – This show was recorded with my BR-600 portable 8-Track and then mastered slightly in Soundforge. I didn’t know much about The Sandcastles or their alter-ego, The Tiny Tornadoes, but since this performance they have constantly been in my thoughts and lodged in my headphones. So much so in fact that I covered their song “Oh, Somebody,” here. The Walker Street room always did have a nice sound and I think the performance is captured quite well. The mastering is a little harsh, but I am still new at this NOW, so bare with me : ).
003. Sway Live @ The Democracy Center/’Zine Library 01/11/09 – This was the last show I played before I had my tonsils out and my deviated septum fixed. I just happened to bring my 8-Track and ended up getting a decent recording of a great set. The tambourine is a little overpowering, but when is it not???
004. Mike Dailey & Heather Noecker Live @ Friendly Square 04/24/09 – Of all the recordings I’ve made, I listen to this one the most and all I did was place and press play. Again recorded with the BR-600, these are two of the most talented people I know playing some of the best songs I’ve heard any of my friends write. These are real songs and as soon as they are heard, they are remembered, hummed, and made into memories.
